Jerry Sampson, ASA has owned and operated the brick and mortar store front, J. Sampson Antiques & Books, since 1992. A book dealer by trade he locally saw a need for appraisals and began seriously appraising personal property in 2000 and in 2004 he began his studies with the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). He is a has the designation of Accredited Senior Appraiser in personal property with a specialty in antiques and decorative arts in this organization.

With plans for other specialties in the near future. Jerry in his appraisal career has a strong emphasis on Southern decorative arts and because of this, is passionate about about the research, history and preservation of this area of our country.

Being that Jerry is a avid reader and book dealer, in January of 2009 he began writing his blog "Antiques Reference Books Reviews" as a way of helping seasoned and beginning appraisers explore a world of reference books. Each review fittingly ends with the catch phrase of "Remember Knowledge Is Power, So Arm Yourself." He has been the presiding President of The Harrodsburg Historical Society for the past eight years and serves on the boards of several historic and preservation societies. He resides currently in the Blue Grass Region of Kentucky.
