Gary Gerlach, ASA, CFA, CPA, Manager in the Forensic, Business Valuation and Litigation Support Practice of Elliott Davis, is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in business valuation of the American Society of Appraisers, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder. Gerlach is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
Prior to joining Elliott Davis, Gerlach had 25 years experience in business valuation in the Charlotte area. Gerlach received a B.A. in political science from Bates College and a MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Gerlach has valued a wide variety of businesses in a large number of industry sectors. He has leading skills in the areas of family limited partnership and LLC valuations and in rural telephone companies.
Gerlach has served as the Chairman of the Western North Carolina Branch of the American Society of Appraisers. Gerlach also served as an Advisor on the International Board of Examiners of the American Society of Appraisers for ten years. This Board approves candidates for accreditation by reviewing submitted business valuation reports for technical competency.
Gerlach is qualified as an expert witness in business valuation in state courts.
