Andrea (Andre) Pontoni, Hons. B.Comm., CPA, CA, CBV, ASA, CFF
Andrea (Andre) Pontoni is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation with more than 35 years of professional experience, including 25 years of direct litigation support experience. He is the owner and principal of Pontoni Financial Solutions, an independent boutique advisory practice specializing in business valuation and related financial advisory services.
Andrea provides independent, objective advice to privately held and family-owned businesses, business owners, professional advisors and legal counsel throughout Ontario and across Canada. His practice focuses primarily on business valuation, succession and estate planning, forensic accounting, damage quantification, specialized tax advisory, corporate finance, financial forecasting and business planning.
His business valuation experience includes valuations for estate and succession planning, shareholder transactions, corporate reorganizations, tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sale transactions, family law, commercial litigation, financial reporting and strategic business planning.
Andrea's 25 years of direct litigation support experience includes business valuations, economic damages and financial analysis. He has prepared expert reports and provided financial analysis in matters involving commercial disputes, shareholder disputes, family law, damage quantification, business interruption losses, income determination and other litigation-related matters.
Prior to establishing Pontoni Financial Solutions, Andrea held senior positions with KPMG and Baker Tilly, including Partner, and served as Vice President and Business Owner Specialist with RBC Dominion Securities. He also gained significant industry experience as Director of Finance for a Tier 1 automotive manufacturer, providing practical insight into the financial and operational issues affecting privately held businesses.
Andrea holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree with a minor in Mathematics and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA); Chartered Business Valuator (CBV), awarded by the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators (CBV Institute); Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation, awarded by the American Society of Appraisers; and Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), awarded jointly by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and CPA Canada. He has also completed the three-part CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program.
Andrea's practice is built around independence and collaboration. He works alongside accountants, lawyers, wealth advisors, financial institutions and other professional advisors, providing specialized valuation and financial expertise that complements rather than replaces the services of the client's existing advisory team.
