Walter W. O’Connell, Principal & Director of Valuation & Cost Segregation Services is responsible for managing cost segregation studies and tangible asset valuations. He has provided these services to clients in a variety of industries for over fifteen years. Mr. O’Connell’s cost segregation and valuation background prior to forming Walter O’Connell Tax Services, LLC included Porto Leone Consulting, Newell Rubbermaid, Morel Cottet, Marcolin and Estee Foods.
He has performed and managed valuation and cost segregation studies on hundreds of properties, including hotels, senior living facilities, manufacturing facilities, research & development facilities, office buildings, hospitals, golf courses, and retail properties. He has also been a presenter at several seminars and conferences on the topic of cost segregation. Mr. O’Connell has extensive experience in tangible asset valuations for tax, book, insurance placement, due diligence, and business planning purposes in the Hospitality, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Chemical, Food Processing, Cable and Telecommunications industries both nationally and internationally. Mr. O’Connell holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kean University of New Jersey, Master of Arts in Economics from Montclair University of New Jersey. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (“ASA”) with the American Society of Appraisers, a r Member of the American Society of Cost Segregation Professionals (“ASCSP”), and a member of the American Economic Association.
