Joseph Phelon, ASA, is an Accredited Senior Appraiser in Machinery & Technical Specialties (MTS) through the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). As an ASA-designated appraiser, Mr. Phelon specializes in the valuation of machinery, equipment, and related tangible property for litigation support, marital dissolution, tax compliance, SBA lending, business ownership transfers, and other valuation purposes.
Mr. Phelon has more than 20 years of professional valuation experience and has performed appraisal assignments involving a broad range of machinery and equipment across numerous industries. He provides defensible valuation opinions for attorneys, accountants, financial institutions, business owners, and other professional advisors.
Complementing his appraisal credentials, Mr. Phelon brings more than 22 years of hands-on ownership and operational experience as the owner and operator of equipment rental and truck rental companies. This unique background provides practical insight into the acquisition, maintenance, utilization, and disposition of machinery, equipment, and business assets, allowing him to evaluate value drivers from both an appraisal and ownership perspective.
In addition to his machinery and equipment expertise, Mr. Phelon maintains an active business valuation practice and is recognized as both a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) and Certified Business Appraiser (CBA).
